Childlink Guyana

ChildLinK gives orphans and vulnerable children who are separated or at risk of being separated from their families or communities a safe and secure future.

ChildLinK’s vision is a Guyanese society where every child has the right to grow up in a safe and secure family and community protected from abuse, exploitation and violence. This vision is further enhanced through ChildLinK’s contribution to the development of child protection systems in the country.

ChildLinK uses a children’s rights-based approach to achieve positive changes in the lives of vulnerable children in the short-term.

The programmes provide counselling and capacity building directly to children, parents and caregivers, community groups and service providers.

They listen to children’s voices to guide the long-term development of Guyana’s child protection system and to change society’s knowledge, attitudes and behaviours with regards to children’s rights and to protect them from abuse, exploitation and violence.

The programmes have also enabled the development of child protection policies, procedures and tools that can be used by governmental and non-governmental organisations in Guyana.
